UPDATECheck out pics of the OPENING CEREMONY or PARADE OF NATIONS (<< Olympic Fashion pt 2)

A few months ago we brought you the official Jamaican 2012 Olympic line designed by Cedella Marley in association with Puma. In March, Stella McCartney released her designs for the British team alongside Adidas and a few days ago Ralph Lauren (with anger of the uniforms being made in China) premiered the US Opening Ceremony attire.

While we have to wait til July 27th, to see the festivities begin, the blood, sweat, and tears pay off, we can preview what our home countries and favorite athletes will be wearing.

(Sidenote . . . Nike, Adidas, Puma and other sportswear houses must LIVE for the Olympics and the money they make lol)

The US uniform can also be purchased (for a hefty price) in pieces from Ralph Lauren, but one thing about these uniforms does stand out . . . looks a lil bit familiar to the 2008 opening Ceremony uniform don’t it?

Nike represents the USA team, will all red performance uniforms:

Taking an unexpected turn in uniforms, is Great Britain’s Ceremony uniform was designed by NEXT. As you can see below it’s a direct opposite of the Stella McCartney designed performance uniforms, which utilizes the flag design and colors.

Australia will be representing in their green and white attired designed by Sportscraft. Their colorful performance uniforms were designed by Adidas.

Opening ceremony uniforms looking a little “conservative” so far huh? Not to worry China will be brightening things up with their attire!

The Chinese athletes will also be performing in Nike designed outfits (they are really feeling red this year lol)

The summer Olympics boast styles and looks inspired by a multitude of cultural entities from each participating country, we’d love to recap them all but errrrrrrr . . . here’s a nice slideshow instead . . .
