Green & Eco Fashion Tips From Celebrity Stylist Jacqueline Rezak

Celebrity stylist Jacqueline Rezak recently worked with Kristin Cavallari for her Coco Eco Magazine Cover. With Kristin’s newfound appreciation for living a more organic lifestyle after the birth of her son Camden, it was only natural Jacqueline opted to dress the star in green and vintage fashions for the shoot.

Below, Jacqueline gives her top tips for how to easily incorporate eco-friendly finds into your wardrobe.

How vintage and green fashions were used in the Coco Eco shoot

Many people think the ONLY way to be eco friendly when it comes to your clothing is to buy items that are made out of earth friendly materials. While this is a great way to remain eco conscious when dressing, it is not the only way. When styling for Coco Eco, I wanted to make sure we mixed sustainable materials with vntage, “re-used” items. Re-using clothing and accessories is a great way to help the environment as it means many people can get use out of just one item- saving the earth from all of the harsh steps that go into making new clothing (i.e.: travel, energy, and more).

What to pair underneath?

When dressing in re-used or recycled clothing, the fabric is often “worn in”. When this is the case you always want to have an undergarment on to make that area more flattering. Recycled materials bunch or can be slightly see through, in this case I would suggest something fitted from www.Hourglassangel.com like the AMIA Supreme Panty Shaper to help those problem areas. How to dress “green” – What to look for? How do you find those styles?

It is much easier to dress “green” then one may think. One big thing to look for when shopping is – where is your item manufactured (this by law must be printed on the care label). If it is “locally” made then there is no travel required, where as items made in China have to be brought to the United States – emitting horrible fumes into the environment + using energy that could be saved by buying locally made items. Another way to find a style that does not harm the environment is to shop vintage, when wearing these items – it is as if you are recycling, the best way to be eco friendly.

Daniel Schamroth Releases Debut EP ‘Common Knowledge’

Singer-songwriter Daniel Schamroth’s much anticipated debut EP ‘Common Knowledge’ is now available as a free download via SoundCloud for a limited time only.

Daniel from Devon in the UK delivers six brand new tracks, produced by Danny Hembrow and mastered by Pete Maher (U2/Beady Eye/The Rolling Stones).

The songs are acoustic and emotive with Daniel’s distinctive vocals weaved around luscious guitars and strings. From the instantly catchy opening track “Flicker” to the intimate ballad “Cold Wind Blowing” through to the more thumping “Heart’s Desire”, Daniel displays a variety of influences yet still retains his distinctive and vivid stripped back sound, having been likened to ‘a more sane version of Noel Gallagher’ with echoes of Ryan Adam’s and Richard Ashcroft along the way.

His debut EP ‘Common Knowledge’ certainly confirms Daniel as a fast emerging song writing talent. With each track comes a different colour and mood, the themes of his song writing exploring (amongst other things) love, loss, hope and friendship. On first inspection‘Common Knowledge’ promises to be the perfect laid back sing-along soundtrack for the summer and beyond… This is one for the lazySunday or the late night after party.

His debut music video “Cold Wind Blowing“ has been causing a stir on YouTube with thousands of views already notched up.

‘Common Knowledge’ offers a fleeting glimpse of Daniel Schamroth’s song writing skills and we can expect big things in the not too distant future from this boy with a guitar from Devon.

A remixed trailer turns the Francis Ford Coppola-penned version into something today’s audiences might get into.

The Great Gatsby returned to the screen this weekend for the first time since the 1974 adaptation, which starred Robert Redford as the enigmatic millionaire played in the new version by Leonardo DiCaprio. Mia Farrow, meanwhile, played Daisy, the object of his obsessive affections — a part which would later go to Carey Mulligan – while Sam Waterston served as narrator Nick Carraway,Tobey Maguire‘s role.

Both versions have received their fair share of knocks from the critics, but the earlier one — directed by Jack Clayton with a screenplay by Francis Ford Coppola – was the far more maligned of the two, dismissed as being a dreary, opaque and thoroughly uninspired mounting of the F. Scott Fitzgerald classic.

One could never accuse Baz Luhrmann‘s 2013 version, a confetti-strewn eye-candy store that benefits from a thumping Jay-Z score and the latest technical bells and whistles, of being dreary. But what if Luhrmann’s “more-is-more” spirit were applied to the Redford picture? Film fan Richard Sandlinggave it a shot, remixing old as new.

The annual MET GALA has become the OLYMPICS of RED CARPET Fashion. The event mixes Rock Stars with Academy Awards winners, Haute Couture Models with calloused Athletes. It is THE EVENT where attendees can express themselves truly through their style of fashion.

This year the “PUNK: Chaos to Couture” exhibition influenced the stars to explore many styles of fashion from sleek glamour to creative mistakes and of course, PUNK.

Annnnnnd it’s #10ThingsOnATuesday round here sooooo ta daaaaaa . . .

Julie Macklowe and her hot pink faux mohawk, spikes and collar, paired with a Zang Toi dress, a PUNK Princess dream!

In a Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci ensemble, Madonna embodied the PUNK theme with Gothic Pin Up girl chic and a dash of girl pink with a pair of Casadei heels.

From the Queen of Punk herself . . . Christina Ricci rocks a Vivienne Westwood plaid dress paired with black hose, seductive black Casadei heels and Harry Winston jewelry. Punk Couture!!!

“I am channeling the OG queen of punk, Joan of Arc!” Katy Perry tweeted as she rocked her PUNK through a dress from Dolce & Gabbana’s 2013 fall collection.

PUNK goes simple with Miley Cyrus spiky hair and Marc Jacobs mesh dress. The singer accented with spiky Eddie Borgo jewelry and Prada shoes.

A delicate punker, Coco Rocha word a Fausto Puglisi cheetah dress embellished with gold flowers & butterflies.

Bustier, Leather Vest, Chantilly Lace, and Tuille, Nina Dobrev unleashes a high class punk with her Monique Lhuillier ensemble!

It’s a Vivienne Westwood so it must be PUNK right? Lily Cole dawns an Amazonian wild rubber 90s grunge inspired dress.
